Tikkun Presents: After the Egyptian Uprising: Psychodynamic, Spiritual and Religious Strategies for Mideast Peace
Monday, February 28, 3:15 - 4:30pm
Room 144ABC

From Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and many other spiritual traditions come important insights
about how to deal with fundamentalisms (religious and political), how to heal the secular/religious split
and the resentments that it causes, and how to deal with the post-traumatic stress disorders that lead
both Israelis and Palestinians to miss real opportunities for reconciliation—and make peace agreements
problematic until both sides deal with the psychological and spiritual resistances of even the most
enlightened people. In light of the Egyptian uprising and the conflicted responses in the Jewish community,
these psychological, spiritual and religious perspectives and strategies take on ever greater relevance.
