Do Israelis “Care About Peace”?

Six months after the infamous Time Magazine cover hit the newsstands there is still discussion about
whether Israelis “care about peace.” Of course the majority of Israelis want to see the parties reach a
two-state agreement. But very few believe it will happen soon or are willing to stand on the front lines of
the fight to achieve peace, faced with disillusionment after years of failed negotiations, a removal from the day-to-day of the conflict, and a focus on what they perceive to be the bread and butter issues that affect their daily lives. How do Israelis overcome these obstacles and create a push for peace from within?
